01 What is Chapman Partnership?

Chapman Partnership serves as the private sector partner to the Miami-Dade County Homeless Trust, commissioned by the Trust to operate two Homeless Assistance Centers located in Downtown Miami and Homestead with 800 nightly beds.  Collectively, these two Centers annually serve approximately 4,000 men, women and families with children, providing a comprehensive suite of programs cradle to career.  Recognized as a national model for our comprehensive approach to helping the homeless, programming includes emergency housing; meals; health, dental and psychiatric care; Head Start for children ages birth to 5, and afterschool and summer programming for children ages 5 and up; job training and placement; and assistance with securing stable housing. The average length of stay for single adults is 89 days, and 133 days for families with children.

Since 1995, Chapman Partnership has served more than 120,000 admissions, including 25,000 children, with a 64% life-to-date success rate in moving people who complete our program from homelessness to self-sufficiency.

02 What programs and services does Chapman Partnership offer?

As Miami-Dade County’s foremost provider of emergency shelter, Chapman Partnership annually links 4,000 residents to a suite of programs and services, including stable housing; job training and placement; medical, dental and psychiatric care; Head Start for children ages birth to 5, and afterschool and summer programming delivered through its Family Resource Center for children ages 5 and up; as well as benefits access that supports housing stability goals; and various life skills programs for parents and caregivers that nurture healthy family outcomes.  Collectively, programs are designed to augment quality of life outcomes that promote reductions in poverty and expand economic opportunities, while building community assets that contribute to a healthy and vibrant Miami-Dade County.

03 How many Homeless Assistance Centers does Chapman Partnership operate?

Chapman Partnership operates two Homeless Assistance Centers.  Chapman Partnership North, located in Downtown Miami, houses 500 nightly residents, and Chapman Partnership South, located in Homestead, houses 300 nightly residents.  On average, the two Centers serve approximately 4,000 individuals annually; 44% are families with children, 43% single adult men, and 13% single adult women.
