Top Male runner Evan Dehart and Top Female runner Alison Stitz
Miami – February, 2014 -- On a picture perfect day on Saturday, February 8, more than 2,300 runners and walkers participated in the third annual RunWild 5K to benefit Chapman Partnership at Zoo Miami, hosted by Adam Kuperstein, co-anchor of NBC 6 and radio host at WQAM. This year’s race raised more than $125,000 to help empower homeless men, women and children in Miami-Dade County to lead independent lives.
Proceeds from the RunWild 5K Run / Walk benefit Chapman Partnership, which helps the homeless become self sufficient with a comprehensive case-managed program that includes emergency housing, meals, health and dental care, day care, job training, job placement, and assistance with securing housing.
Competitive awards were given to the top three males and females in each age category from 8 and under to 75 years and older. Top overall male and female runners also received a one year Zipcar membership and a $100 driving credit. The top male was Evan Dehart (15:57) and the fasted female was Alison Stitz (19:35). RunWild 5K Run / Walk included an all-day entrance to Zoo Miami and festival with food, DJ, games, activities and fun for the whole family. RunWild 5K is presented by BB&T and sponsored by Assurant, Ocean Bank, Deloitte, Florida East Coast Industries, J.N. McArthur, Capital Bank, Williamson Cadillac and Espirito Santo Bank.
