MIAMI, FL – Monday, November 29th, 2010 – Dan and Trish Bell were presented with the 2010 Outstanding Philanthropist Award at a ceremony celebrating Miami’s 25th Annual National Philanthropy Day and the 50th Anniversary of the founding of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
For more then 30 years the Bells have been deeply involved in the Miami-Dade community with their volunteerism, leadership and philanthropy. The Bell’s generosity spans all areas of community life and includes amongst many others the Methodist Church, the Miami Science Museum, Community Partnership for Homeless (CPH), American Red Cross, Camillus House, Lighthouse for the Blind, Fairchild Tropical Gardens and American Cancer Society.
“We are honored to receive this award and plan to remain active in our community for a long time,” said Trish Bell, who’s currently chairperson for CPH.
The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) represents nearly 28,000 members in more than 185 chapters throughout the world, working to advance philanthropy through advocacy, research, education and certification programs. AFP fosters development and growth among fundraising professionals and promotes high ethical standards in the fundraising profession.
Community Partnership for Homeless operates two Homeless Assistance Centers: 1550 North Miami Ave. in Miami and 28205 SW 125th Ave. in Homestead. Together, the centers accommodate 756 homeless residents, of which more than 200 are children.
